CRISTA DIXON

EL DORADO HILLS, CA

UNITED STATES

After being trapped in a corporate body for over 30 years, Crista Dixon escaped to pursue her loves of jewelry, fashion and vintage accessories. Ten years ago she introduced her one-of-a-kind "glam" bracelets that can be worn with casual, business and evening attire. Pieces incorporate gems and stones or vintage findings (buttons, cabochons, crystals, jewelry components, cameos) encased in silver box clasps. These clasps are surrounded by gems and precious stones, glass, crystal, vintage and ethnic beads. Eight years ago Crista introduced her line of one-of-a-kind necklaces featuring vintage findings, gems and precious stones, artisan pottery, glass, antiquities and Thai silver focal pieces. She also makes custom earrings to go with these creations. Two years ago she began creating handblown borosilicate glass collars.

Her jewelry is both hip and fun with an eye toward vintage and natural materials. Having travelled the world in a corporate job, she has admired and purchased jewelry for herself from all over the world. Her lifelong love of jewelry inspired her to begin making her own jewelry. Trips abroad (France, Germany, England, China, ) allowed Crista to purchase many of the vintage findings she uses in her jewelry. A recent trip to Prague yielded some fabulous vintage pressed glass cabs and crystals. She also just found some amazing art deco dress clips at an estate sale that she is currently making into necklaces. She loves to see her jewelry enjoyed by the 18 to 80 set . . .

Crista's jewelry company, Queen Lily's Jewels, was named after her beloved departed beagle. Queen Lily was often found in her studio taking a snooze or searching for cookies. Her new beagle Willow is now large and in charge. Crista's work can be found in numerous galleries and boutiques in Northern and Southern California. She participates in juried Studio Tours and Art Shows.
